The Art of Frying Plantain depicts a figure in a poised, balletic stance, gracefully frying plantain- avoiding splashes of oil while referencing the rule of cooking plantain: the second you look away, it burns. This ritual of cooking is a careful dance between patience and vigilance. Culturally, plantains hold deep significance in Afro-Caribbean and African households. The fruit represents comfort, nostalgia, and home.
